The Carson House is a restored, Greek Revival home originally built in 1793 by Colonel John Carson, a local militia leader and representative to the Fayetteville convention. Today the house serves as a museum of history, exhibiting period furnishings, textiles, ornaments and some items original to the house and the Carson family. Located six miles west of Marion in Old Fort, the home also contains manuscripts on the Carson family and other historical topics.
